tall chrome radiator

would anyone know is a tall radiator with a btu of 3,550 lets ofF good heat it is only for a small dining area about 10 ft by 10 ft which has a double radiator in now, I have a small kitchen extension joined to this with no radiator that end of the kitchen which is about the same size as the dining area.. trying to work out the will it be warm enough it a bit of a head wreck not understanding these BTUS....when I put in the btu calculation it said 2 rads needed but it only has one now and another btu said 4500 something...

3550 is 1kW, which is not much. It's meagre for a bedroom.

A tall rad is especially good at heating the ceiling rather than spreading the warmth.

I'm guessing a kitchen extension has several external walls, and some windows. If it is modern, the walls and ceilings will have well-insulated cavities.

Try a 1kW electric heater (not a fan heater) and you will see what I mean. In real life, radiators give less heat than their rating, because it is measured using unrealistically optimistic assumptions.
 
thanks ,the kitchen is not too modern it does have insultated walls and 4 ft by 3ft and a 2 ft window... the radiator was more for style but do need it to be fit for purpose...
