Hello

I have a hall way that I was going to use self levelling compound on but there hallway slopes inwards towards the back of the house.
The front door is about 2 centimetres higher (eyeballed using a lazer levelling device) than the other end of the hallwall, which is only about half a centimeter below the floor in the next room
(see photos). I think difference in height means that using self levelling compound is not really a good option.
I am hoping to put wood flooring on top of what ever covers the concrete but would go with carpet if that is better option.
I'm not sure what options are available so any advice would be appreciated.

Previously the cement floor had a red clay like covering which has started to bulge in places, so I removed, as I was worried that water was getting in.

Cheap laser level set a 1m high and a line on a stick set at 1m.
Move stick about to find high and low spots.
Put a few screws in floor with all the heads level using laser level and stick.

Buy powdered leveling screed. Cover the screw heads with leveler.

Mix thick enough it won't flow. Maybe that will shape floor better for you?

Thanks Wayners

I've just done something like you suggested using my laser level, looks like the actual slope of the floor is about 5cm from the front door to the end of the hallway. I think that carpet or wooden flooring is the way to go.
