I have a shower room and the tiles were originally fixed directly onto plasterboard. As such there is now significant wet rot and moulding. I want to replace the tiles with shower walls but need advice as to how best to seal off the damaged plasterboard? A builder friend who's going to do the work has suggested something (I think he called) Tanni Gum?? Never heard of it and he's never used it before either. Has anyone heard of it and is it any good? Thanks

Removed damaged plasterboard.
Thanks - I considered this but was advised it was more trouble than it's worth and better to seal it off and re-cover.
Simple job , you don't want to be sealing in damp plasterboard.
