Hi,
Refitting a bathroom and looking at showers, bath taps etc. Found some we like on Drench.co.uk, also found almost identical taps on other websites but much cheaper, so was wondering if they're likely the same thing, just rebranded? Or could they be the same design but with cheaper internals that are likely to fail sooner?

Example..
Freestanding bath tap on Drench £350...

Very similar looking one on B&Q (brand is UK Home Living and sold by 3rd party FNX Bathrooms through B&Q) £215...

Is going for the cheaper one likely to be a false economy? I checked and the dimensions are identical, even the image showing the dimensions are identical on both sites.

Cheers for any advice,

All about warranty and support.

If the cheaper one still has a reasonable guarantee, the manufacturer is contactable and they provide good support and a spares facility, then it should be fine. If not then expect to throw it away if and when it eventually fails.

I wouldn't touch either of those (which are indeed likely to be the same thing). Get something from a recognised brand, especially with built in fittings. If you go for dodgy own brand stuff like this you'll find that you can't get spare parts when you need them. It really is a case of buy cheap, buy twice. Ask yourself whether you really want to be throwing the whole tap in the bin and trying to find something else to match when it starts dripping.

Both claim to offer a lifetime guarantee on those bath taps. However reading the reviews and feedback Drench seem reasonable, UK Home Living has limited but abysmal reviews, so I guess it's a case of if it fails how likely are the guarantees going to be honoured without hassle? Think I'll pay the extra £250 odd for the Drench stuff. Cheers.

Thanks. Have you had experience with Drench, or just own brand stuff in general? Problem is we're looking at brushed bronze and there seems to be limited availability from known brands. If anyone has any recommendations then I'd be happy to take a look at those. Cheers.

Buy both online and return the one (or both) that doesn't suit
