just tried to change a washer in my bathroom mixer tap (the cold side). took off the headgear assembly and tried to put the washer in but no joy. it was slightly thicker and shorter (didn't think this would make a difference or much of one tho). But when replaced and water back on the flow rate was a bit slower and a few drips started to appear when the tap was turned off.

i thought most tap washers were of standard size? is there anyway i can get an exact size replacement washer-does buying a big box of mixed washers help as i was going to do this but thought not at the time.

thanks for any help.
