I have just replaced a tap washer on a basin tap exactly as the Homeserve.com video. I reassembled the tap and turned the water supply back on. When i tested the tap, the water runs but i cant turn it off, what have i done wrong?????

.....You`ll probably have to strip the mechanism and give it a smear of vaseline or similar. There are certain taps that will jam like that 
Are the tap rising spindle, or non rising?
