TAP -water only drip even when fully opened

hi folks,
i need a bit of help here please. my bathroom tap seem to have stopped working. even when i fully open it, it only drips. also a bit stiff to open. i checked and it hasnt been turned off at the stopcock or anything like that.
any ideas? or is it a case of replacing the whole tap. please see picture attached. many thanks

thank you so much Andrew. sorted. checked the washer. looked ok so i cleaned everything round it and the whole that holds the washer in place. works fine now. much appreciated. thank you
