Hi, we have just had a new Pyramis sink and mixer tap fitted. The plumber who fitted it also fitted new plastic pipework. The taps are connected with flexible metal tap connectors. Since having this done there has been an awful metallic taste from our drinking water, you can smell it also. If we run the tap for a few minutes the tastes subsides but we have to do this every time we run the water.

Can anyone tell me what is causing this and how to get rid of the smell/taste. My plumber is coming to have a look but he hasn't really any idea either.

Thanks :)

It can come from cheap fitting's, flexi hose ie inner rubber hose that are not WRAS approved and the chlorine in mains water reacts with them.
