tape to DVD

Can someone tell me how I can get my old camcorder Hi 8 tapes, transfered on to my computer, do I need special software and /or special hardware. I then want to put them onto DVD.

You can get a DVD recorder, plug your camcorder into it, press play, then record on the dvd recorder.

Then when done, put it in the PC, do what you want & re write a new DVD.
