I am installing a new roller blind

The top inside recess measures 159cm.5cm left to right, therefore the rail has to be 159.5cm (including brackets)

The bottom measurement of recess measures 160.5cm

I need to cut the rail and blind to size … would tapering the fabric work? Ie, make it 1cm wider at the bottom of fabric compared to the top, so when it’s rolled down it will make up the 1cm gap?

Cheers

But only 1/2 a cm on each side.
I guess that you could do it (cut at an angle) but loads of scope for a cock up.

You may know that there’s a gap but the average person won’t notice.
You don’t want it to exactly fit the reveal anyway as rollers do drift side to side a bit.

If it's wider at the bottom it will snag if it's only half way down, and when rolling up and down

Rollers are usually cut 35mm short of width to allow room for fitting into brackets and fabric another 6mm shorter each end .blind has to be cut straight .
Consult the fitting instructions .
