HI everyone (again)!!

Another question I would love to know the answer to.

When you render, (4:1:1 mix) if you have ajoining corners (like a square room has). Do you need to tape the corners like you would do with jute scrim if you were floating and setting a room? (to prevent the cracking on the corners)

Or is this unnecessary with render?

Im sure you know what i mean. (Ie - where you have two walls joining together with a right angle, do you have to tape the joint when rendering)?

And if so, what is it you use?

Thanks everyone once again.

Best wishes, BigLOU

No need but if there are any cracks in the corners or on the main walls it is best to nail some expanding metal over them, letting it over hang the cracks by 12" either sider of the crack... ;) When nailing on ex-metal always nail from centre outwards....

aaa thanks roy c thats very helpfull advise :) .

Just another quick question I though of (cheeky I know).

But if render drys to fast, does it crack like gypsum plasters? And how fast it too fast?

Thanks alot for helping ROy and anyone else who replies.

Thanks.

BIG LOU

Fast drying render can crack, you can keep it watered for about 3 days after applying top coat or sheet it up this will help prevent it cracking.
Environmental conditions will apply.
