Got a set of kitchen taps... it says minimum operating pressure 1bar... the mains should be ok... but the hot im not sure.. the hot water cylinder is upstairs

The hot will probably be ok but try it and take them back if you are not happy. 
someone said get .2bar taps instead but itd save me hassel if i put the 1 bar ones in... would they work... theres no pump for the hot

THe difference is usually down to the inlet pipes/flexi's and the fact that some taps have small water ways within the tap causing loss of flow, and therefore should be used on pressurised Hot/Cold water systems. If you use them on a gravity system (water fed from tank) then the flow is slow or non existant
