telephone cable

what is the maximum currect carying capacity of standard 3-pair telephone cable? I want to use it to power the external siren (draws almost 1A) in an alarm system. (i had originally planned installing a dummy box with lights but later decided to upgrade and this is the only cable i have in place) Will i get away with it? I have two spare cores, perhaps i could double up some of the conductors. Which one's? +,- permanent supply? or the neg. triggers?

You wont need to pair any up, it'll work fine, I've come accross many systems wired in phone cable
