Hi All,

I have my master socket and a series of extensions hanging off this.
The extension sockets are wired in series: master cable to first extension, then from first extension socket to the second, from second to the third and finally from the third to the fourth.

The extensions are wired as follows:
2 - solid blue
3 - solid orange
4 - white with orange
5 - white with blue

All extensions are working apart from #4. I noticed that socket #3 has this round yellow gizmo that I've not noticed on the others:

This extension socket does work. Its the one after this that is not working.

Thanks in advance.

Yikes!
Thanks for the prompt response @rsgaz

Which 3 components are you referring to and is this a compromise on quality/reliability as I could get this changed. Its just a case of waiting a few more days for the slave to be posted...

Also, the wires are in the wrong way, doesn't make a great deal of difference, but it helps the krone tool cut the ends off.

The wires should fan out from the middle, like you would for a cat5e socket...

The yellow thing! (capacitor)
The resistor (small blue item)
Surge arrestor (light blue thing, can't actually see one in your picture though)

You don't need to de-solder them, just snip their legs off.

No, most manufacturers use the exact same PCB for their slaves and masters, they just don't solder on the extra components on the slave.
You're literally converting it to how a new slave module would be anyway.

Look at this slave...

...it's printed with where the components would go, had it been a master.

Thanks. I only have two on my unit. Does that sound correct?
