Hi There
Recently decorated a living room and changed all the plastic / brass light fittings/sockets etc for chrome versions.
However, I've come to the telephone socket (which I have no intention to use btw) and removing the existing faceplate, it has been earthed. It has 2 wires going into the earth terminal, one looks to be from the neighbouring double plug socket and one looks to be earthed to the backbox of the socket.
However, the new faceplate doesn't have an earth terminal. Is it therefore, needed to remove the small wire from the backplate to the old socket, and earth the wire from the neighbouring plug to the backbox of the telephone socket?
Thanks
