My parents have just had there old landline disconnected and a fibre connection made to the telephone pole instead. All is working except their new Panasonic dect cordless phone kx-tgu43eb won't work when connected directly into the sky router. Keeps showing check phone line. I've tried connecting an old BT phone to the router and that's getting a dialing tone and I can make calls. Any ideas why the Panasonic isn't working?

Try swapping cable as they unplug from phone itself.
Use the spare old phone cable if that will unplug. Should do.

Are you, your parents aware, that calls in are ok, any calls out could incur significant charges?.
No disrespect intended, but the older generation prefer landline, it's what they're used to.
Getting back on point, my three 'cordless' phones work ok connected to the router, but I never phone out.

Tried a different cordless dect phone that I know works with router and it's also saying 'check phone line'. Tried another cable and still no joy.

Have you tried powering off both Dect base and $ky Router... connecting up ... powering Dect base first then the Router? ... and waiting for a bit (minutes) for everything to get up and running? Apparently there's a Voice light that should be solid green, is it/was it?

Dodgy BT phone plug/socket and/or RJ45 connections may have been ruled out by trying other cables. But worth another check / clean of them (isopropyly alcohol, contact cleaner or lighter fluid are my go-tos).

If all else fails get $ky to help / sort it ... parents will be paying enough money to them, at a guess... DO be firm and state you've tried this that and the other with no joy.
Also search the $ky forum for other $ky users' advice: they can be pretty good I believe.
