does anyone know how much it costs to get a temproary electrical supply installed. I'm going to be renovating a property over the winter months in the evenings and weekends and will need power and lighting.

Or, is there anyway of a sparky running a supply from the meter will he does the rewire?

It'll be far cheaper in the long run to get your sparky to run som termp circuits although these will need to certified.

just get your sparks to connect a CU to the meter and run some short 16A radials with one double socket on the end of each then plug your extention leads into them.

If it requires a new service, then ensure you get t he temporary service installed at the position you want the final meter and/or CU.

Get a spark in, he will be best at dealing with the elec board, if that is required.

There was a post similar to this not so long ago, chap wanted temp wiring in a large retail shop, try and do a search

If you ask your DNO for a tempory supply, you'll get charged the installation and removal costs.

If you just ask for a supply, you won't be charged for the removal up front.
