Hello, I'm new to the forum and more importantly to DIY.

I want to remove a shaver light / socket from my bathroom, but keep the outlet concealed behind the plasterboard in case we want to install one in the future.

Firstly can I dot this myself or do I need to get an electrician in? If I can do this how? or do I need to remove the whole circuit / spur?

Thanks for any help!

Thanks. Again basic question - is there a blanking plate or termination connection or something I can fix to the tails of the circuit once I've taken the light off so the circuit is left in place?

Cheers

There are a wide variety of blanking plates available that you can use to cover the exposed mounting box. Terminate the wires in a length of choc-block connector (ensuring the mounting box, if metal, remains earthed), and the job is done - the square blanking plate complies with regulations.

A lot depends on what's in the wall - "shaver light/socket" is probably not a standard 2-gang box size...
