Tessellated floors- cleaning and renovation

Have a floor that is the main hallway and looks like a rough version of this:-

What's the best way to clean off 97 years worth of muck, polish and wear.


I've tried:-

Diluted spirt of salts
White spirit
Scubbing with a floor polish and a scubbing attachment.

None have helped, so has anyone any wonder product tips or ideas?

Edit: delete post cause what I reccomended is no good for them tiles.
