Testing and certification of lighting

I am just wondering what testing and certification has to carried out on emergency lights??I know a insulation resistance test is carried out on the main feed but is or should it be carried out on the emergency feed aswell and also l-e fault loop impedance for both switch feed and emergency feed needed?
I know about testing once powered up but it is the testing of the cable and wiring for certification I am wondering about
