How can I Test an Alpha CD24C diverter valve?

Sometimes the hot taps run hot as normal and sometimes I have to run a few hot taps for it to kick in.

If I unclip the diverter switch should the boiler fire up or do I need to press the switch in to make it fire up?

Looking at the name, this would be better asked in the combustion chamber forum.

if you prize the horseshoe clip off the diverter valve, then the boiler should fire up, if you then press the switch in the boiler should go off, it works backwards to any normal switch, with the switch removed press it in and out 20 times if it fails once fit a new switch, if it doesnt you will have to change the diaphragm in the diverter valve, you might want to get someone in to do that, not the easiest of jobs
