Texecom Ricochet

At the end of last year I was unfortunate to have a house fire in a part renovated house. Due to the fire many of the alarm wires were damaged. I can't replace them due to sensor locations.

I have been recommended the above system.

I need panel / remote keypad
5 sensors
1 dual tech
2 bell boxes
1 door contact

I have watched a couple of you tube videos and it appears a reasonable diy job.

I am a time served instrument technician but I have not been in this field for 25 years.

Can anyone please advise. Am I taking on something I shouldn't as I get the impression Texecom are not particularly helpful unless you are a registered engineer.

To be fair Texecom entertain end users doing installs probably more than any other manufacturer going.

Thanks for your reply - So as a self install you don't think i will have too many problems

lol everyone's level is different, depends, it isn't the easiest panel even for engineers. dont over think and stick to the basics ask for advice of your unsure.

The Texecom is OK to work with if you are confident dealing with electronics, but probably not for an absolute beginner.

My case history: I inherited a nearly new Elite 48 alarm, was not happy with the very basic installation, so I rebuilt it from scratch.
It now has two wired keypads; two wired sounders; two wired door contacts; 8XP-W box and four dual mode detectors.
I have had no serious problems doing this, I had to ask a few questions on here and have always been given superb advice.

In fact I've seen your post today because I came here to ask a question!

I would suggest that before you order anything you download the full installation instructions and have a good read. If you can understand them then you should be OK. If you can't get to grips with the instructions then you may want to think again.
