The Bell hotel. Looks like it’s set a precedent.

Forrige and his appetite for riots. (n)
Maybe that’s what’s needed to bring peoples dissatisfaction to the notice of the government. Maybe they'll do more to stop them being brought here in the first place. Hey nimby, how would you and your neighbours feel if a greedy landlord bought the house next door to you and turned it into an HMO to house these so-called asylum seekers in your 98% white street? Don’t pretend you’d all be happy about it.

How very militant of you.

Here as in Essex or here as in the UK?

I'd probably move.
Don’t pretend you’d all be happy about it.
Ok. I'll continue not to be happy about it in that case.

Tbh we probably won't see any more cases like this. No need. Keir's smashing the gangs initiative will ramp up very soon in terms of results ...

;)

(I had to put the winky face as some on here don't seem to get sarcasm)

The people complaining about hotels and want them out are not going to be best pleased when they move in next door or down the street'
They have been forcing landlords to sell up and then all of a sudden offer them gold plated 5 year guaranteed rent with no fees and no maintenance. So that house that was just about to be sold to a first time buyer is now instead housing these people.
And Labour think the younger vote will keep them in power

Is that why the Tories used so many repurposed hotels. I had assumed it was out of desperation. But was it actually a deliberate choice to keep the asylum seekers out of mainstream housing.
