I've (SWMBO has) got the dreaded Hotpoint WD440 flashing light syndrome. I've isolated it to F08, which comes out at something like "Heater Relay Stuck' Tried the heater itself, which has no problems, checked all the contacts and the 'ECU' board for problems and can't see anything, no burns, no breaks, etc.
The thing seems OK if you try a cycle with no heat (heat control off)
Next stop would appear to be a stuffed relay - but which one is it? There are four, or five on the board, all appear the same-ish.
It irks me to throw the whole thing away because of a £2 relay - and yes, I know I can get a new/rebuilt/repaired board for about £70-£80........ but that irks me too! It's 8 years old and otherwise fine.
Does anyone know which it is?
