My gas meter was replaced yesterday, and having dug it out of the stuff under the stairs, I find there is no Earth bonding in sight.
As I understand Part P, I can install this without falling outside the law!
Now, the only bare metal is on the incoming pipe - everything past the meter is painted. Can the meter be treated as if it bonds across its pipes, or do I have to clean off the paint and clamp the pipe on the house side of the meter? (I'm not daft enough to clamp onto the paint
)
I've seen several sizes of Earth cable quoted as being needed for this bond - what's the actual requirement, 6, 10, 16mm² ? (The MET is only about a metre away, if that has any bearing on it).
