i know there is a limit on the temperature the hot water i set on but it really isn't very hot, so much so we never add cold water when running the bath, and we have to boil a kettle to wash up, how can i turn up the heat setting?
the hot water in my potterton powermax155 is not that hot

Probably the blending valve. You might be able to adjust it or it might just need replacing. Although firstly you need to make sure hot water is getting up to the valve first to rule out anything else. Maybe get someone in to look at it. Not a boiler you wanna be doing too much by yourself on. They have somewhat of a reputation.
