I went down one in Meribel that I had done previously... Wow! It was really mogulled out.

It depends what time of day you go on them. The top of any slope with a bit of steepness quickly gets mogulled by skiers going over, then edging up quickly due to the steepness. As the skiers spread out lower down, the moguls may not be a severe. Steep narrow blacks will be mogulled along their entirety, after a lot of traffic.
