I'm only posting this as I have had 3 private messages asking about trace and access, and thermal cameras. I have been using a THOR002 and have found it a great piece of kit, so thought I'd post a quick review.
I’ve been using thermal cameras for over 20 years, using everything from budget thermal scanners to top-end kit, and this camera has genuinely impressed me.
The image quality is first-class — the X³ Image Enhancement Mode and RazorX algorithm make it easy to pick out small temperature changes, even on tricky jobs. The detachable macro lens is a real winner for me; I can spot faults on pipework to about a quarter of a inch.
Accuracy is bang-on (±1.5°C), and it handles high temps with no problem. The 9-point thermal tracking is handy when you’re trying to monitor multiple spots at once. The fusion imaging with visible light and PiP means you can always see exactly where the heat’s coming from.
It’s tough, too. I’ve dropped it on-site more than once — no issues. The alloy and ABS build, Quick-Shield lens, and explosion-proof case make it feel like it’s built for proper work, not just showroom displays. The LED light and laser targeting are little extras I didn’t think I’d use much, but they’ve been surprisingly useful.
Battery life is solid — I can get a full day’s work (10+ hours) out of it, and fast charging means I’m not waiting around. The wireless transfer to my phone and PC reporting makes the paperwork side of things much easier, and the QR Scan-to-Archive system is great for keeping track of repeat jobs.
If you’re in the trade and want a camera that’s accurate, rugged, and actually makes your job easier, this is worth every penny.
