I have an oak framed old house with solid walls. I would like to put thermal plasterboard on to the inside of outer walls. It would have to go between the studs, which are proud of the surface, in pieces about 400mm wide. It could be up to about 50 mm thick.

What brands are there of such board ?

Could I cut it ? What with ?

Could I 'stick' it to the existing plaster ? Eg, with Gripfix ?

Best wishes

Hello

We've been investigating types of plasterboard lately too.

I know Lafarge and British Gypsum both do thermal boards.

Lafarge technical support say their thermalboard can be dotted and dabbed onto the wall using their multi purpose adhesive rather than bonding. By me Lafarge and British Gypsum are easily available from builders merchants open to the public- don't know about trade outlets.

I've also read on these boards that people seem to recommend Kingspan and Celotex.

I believe at least Lafarge do boards upto 50mm thick.

Both Lafarge and British Gypsum have excellent websites with details of all their products - haven't looked for the others.

Good luck
Amanda
