Is it possibly to buy a Thermista-stat with a timer?

I have a Johnson and Johnson warm air central heating. We have a thermistor stat on the wall in the living room and a timer in the kitchen with the boiler.
I'm told its special - e.g not just an on off, the fans run at different speeds depending on the temp difference.

What I like to do is control temperature and time in the living e.g switch the heating on Saturday at 8am at 18' and at 4pm turn it up to 22'

Can I get one of these?

Do you mean Johnson and Starley?

I have only seen a very few of these, but they were all fitted with J&S branded 'thermistorstats' fitted, as you say, they are a bit specialised. I believe though that I may have seen a system fitted with a J&S combined time/temp/controller, so you could perhaps check with them.

Whilst the standard programmable thermostats will allow you to select a different temperature at different times, they only provide a single on / off switching contact and not variable speed control.

It might be a bit impractical, but it might be possible to have two 'thermistorstats' set at different settings and use a timer to switch between the two of them.

Hopefully, someone else who is more familiar with these systems may be able to provide better help.

The warm air unit you have is a modairflow, you can not use the modern programmable room thermostats with them, never heard of J&S bringing one out that you could do that with, but what do I know , call J&S and ask if they have a programmable room thermistorstat suitable for use with a modairflow

Thanks for the replies
