Thermo board on external cavity wall

As the title says can I put thermo plasterboard on an external cavity wall.. It's down to bare brick... Is there any advantage with heat saving in doing this. It will be going around the front door and window as in pic. Or should I just dot and dab normal plaster board.... Or do i render plaster it
