plasterboard window reveal cavity

Hi

I need to plasterboard a bay window reveal where the cavity is. Would it be best to plasterboard over the existing wooden lathes or replace these with cavity closers and dot and dab onto that?
Or is there another way to keep the plasterboard off the external brick wall which may be better?

A cavity closer will do a better job of draught reduction than those 2 bits of stick.
If you have the depth, you could use insulated pb, if not then Marmox would reduce thermal bridging.
