Thermostatic Chrome Shower Valve - does not close

P

I have a power shower installed in my house. The tap make I think is 'Mira excel'. Recently the tap has become stiff. It is opened with some difficulty and to close it I need to push it and turn. It seems the 'screw' part has been damaged. Please help.

it is quite likely scaled up with lime.

you can get a kit of new seals from Mira or people who sell shower parts; take it apart; descale, polish up the parts and reassemble with new rings and a smear of silicone grease on all working parts.

Silicone grease might not have been used when it was made, so it will probably be better than new.

You will have to identify your exact model though. Look at the pictures.

Thank you for the reply. Please accept the duplicate post. I was not sure the first was successfully posted because the photographs had not been reduced for it.
