A quick question as I am om my way to a friends house to do a job, we are putting in a thermostatic mixer shower, as he has yet to buy the shower & I want to a run the plumbing in chased into the wall, my question is is it always hot into the right and cold into the left on thermostatic mixer valves on showers? I ask because I want to avoid having to cross over later?

Many thanks

Thanks, I think that is maybe the usual case, as with the plumbing for a basin / bath, I will just have to give it a go! :D

Many mixers have a blanking plug fitted opposite the outlet, so you can fit the body 'upside down' and swap the outlet and blanking plug instead of crossing over the supplies.

Valves made on the continent may have the feeds marked 'C' & 'F' instead of 'H' & 'C'. In that case 'C' would be the HOT feed.
