i fitted a thermostatic mixer for bath, shower, and hand held shower. cold off supply hot off combi boiler. i think it worked ok at first but now i cant seem to get it hot enough. if i fill a bath its just about ok, but if i want to top up with hot i cant get it hot enough. i over ride but not hot enough, it seems to go cooler at times aswell. the max temp is way below other taps from boiler any ideas?
cheers jon

Are the supplies balanced to the mixer. If the cold is off a tank then you will need to change to mains or install a pressure equalising valve.

thanks the cold is off mains hot from combi boiler. i was worried about mains pressure being too high so tried to semi close the cold pipe to valve by shutting valve on pipe in a little, not really sure this works.

Part-closing the cold supply valve WILL NOT reduce pressure at the taps when they are closed. but it will restrict flow when the water is running, and will stop your thermostatic tempering valve form working properly.
