Hi

I want to fit a thermo valve to a bedroom radiator but both existing valves on the radiator look the same, how do I know wjich is the feed and which is the return?? does it matter?

Thanks in advance

The valves will be the same. Only the tops are different.
With the system cold switch on the heating & feel the pipes, the first one getting hot will be the feed.
Hope this helps .

certain rad valves can only be fitted one way or they may become noisy....others can be fitted either way

Make sure it's a bi-directional valve body and it doesn't matter.

Thanks for the replys, I will have a look at it in the morning as i dont know if its a bi-directional valve or not, its quite important that it works properly as its for a babys room!!

Thanks

Some valves have an arrow on the body to indicate direction of flow.

They may be noisy if fitted the other way round.
