Thermostatic shower question.

All,

Looking to install one but need to understand how it works, if its powered by the boiler surely it used the hot water from the bolier (like a normal tap), how does the thermostatic bit kick in??

inside a thermostatic shower is a coil that adjusts immediately, if someone opens a cold tap the coil automatically adjusts so you don't get scolded and vice versa
