Hi Everyone,

This is my first time here and I am a complete novice when it comes to heating etc. Our 3 bedroom house has an old back boiler in the living room behind a gas fire. The back boiler heats our water and heats the radiators. We have an electronic timer in the airing cupboard which allows the heating to come on twice an day and no more.

My question is:

Can we upgrade this the be temperature controlled? If I fit thermostatic radiator valves I assume the heating will continue chugging away as instructed by the timer.

Can this be done? Ideally we just want to set the temp to 18 degrees or so and leave it to it.

All advice very gratefully received.

p.s. we are on an extremely tight budget so a new boiler etc is out of the question.

Thanks

The problem should be solvable, but we need more info about your system.

A list of components would be helpful (not including boiler, HW cylinder, rads!). Pics would be even better.
