Hi could someone please explain something to me?? I have just had a new baxi combi put in with a thermostat in my kitchen. I have set the room thermostat to 18 but dont understand why sometimes i hear the heating come or notice it going off and when i check the room temperature will be set at 18 and the actual temperature will be above this! why is it coming on when the temperature is above my desired temp?

It may be that your combi has a domestic hot water preheat and that is what you hear.Check your user manual.
