Thick paint?

Hi there, could anyone please recommend any thick paint? Non-textured if possible. Basically ive boarded a loft, only quickly and filled the gaps rather than plastering the whole thing due to tge weight on the roof.

Ive sanded it down quite well but feel there may be some slight perfections and was wondering if there is a thicker paint i could buy that may aid in hiding some of the imperfections?

Firstly you will need to apply a mist coat to the ceiling otherwise what ever paint you choose will fail to form a good bond, without going down the textured route perhaps your best bet would be a trade emulsion such as Dulux Trade these paints have greater opacity than their retail counterparts.

Also if you were to use a long pile roller which would offer a deeper stipple effect thus helping to mask minor imperfections, and use a matt paint as opposed to a silk as these have better hide qualities.

Thanks for the reply Dec, mist coat being the same paint with water or can any paint do/watered down? As for the trade paint, would b n q sell the better paints or do you have any recommendations where i can get if from?

Yes the same paint can be used, B&Q sell Dulux Trade along with many other sheds, as said choose a matt finish and thin your first coat with around 20% water. One thing though there is never any substitute for good prep so if your joints have only been filled they just might come back and haunt you.

Thanks for the info, what about leyland trade paint from screwfix? Just seen it, or is still worth sticking with dulux?

Leyland Trade will be fine, a very good paint.
