Thinner top cover for washing machines

Can you get thinner top covers for washing machines if you are short on vertical space? What are they called?

some makes have a thick worktop that is removable. you can do that on Bosch Dishwashers. However washing machines have a lot of weight lurching about so check the instructions.

depends on brand and m/c HP did make one, but as JohnD said read the manual
