Help me get some more sleep please!

My heating comes on about an hour before I get up and the noise from my bedroom radiator is really irritating!

It's is a fast rythmic ticking sound, approx. 3 ticks per second.
TRV is on flow side.
Rad is sitting on little nylon bits that hook on brackets.
Rad and boiler is about 6 years old (pipes are much older) and had always done it but seems to be getting worse.
Adjusting the stop valve helps for a while and then the noise comes back.

Yours hopefully.

Sounds like the expanding pipes are rubbing on the floorboards/joists. Only way to stop it is to make the hole bigger and fit something between the pipes and wood.

If you turn the TRV up one notch, or down one notch, does the noise stop?

If not, how long does the noise continue?

Is your floor floorboards, like planks, or big sheets? Can you lift the carpet and get at it.
