Hi all,
Laying down tiles on a kitchen floor. tiles are going to finish up at one side at a door which has no saddle board and the door closes plane with the floor. On the other side of this door there is a step down.

My Q is: Is there any kind of finish that i can put on the end tile that will ensure that the tile will not get damaged, as the tile edge will be sticking out for anyone coming in the door way.l

Thanks

I'm not completely clear on what your asking here, but generally when I finish at a doorway I usually stop the tiling at the back edge of the door itself in line with the door frame lining.

I then get a threshold made to size in solid Oak or Mahogany to the same thickness as the door. A fall can be made should you need to take up any difference in floor levels.

I find this provides an attractive finish and good protcetion, I usually glue these in place with gripfill or similar.
