I'm about to tile a wall (floor to ceiling) in a corner behind a freestanding wood burner with 900mm x 150mm Porcelain tiles, the substrate is previously emulsion painted drywall.

I've done the gaffa tape test in various places (leaving overnight) and it appears pretty much sound and walls good and level. I'm intending running a sander over the area to key but wondering if I should also score through to plaster and then should I prime with SBR or is this not needed?

Cheers, DIY-tiling-head-on
