Tiling Mosaics

We're about to tile mosaics in a bathroom, onto primed plasterboard:-

Which is bloody expensive!

Is this needed?

Or is this product from homebase just as suitable:-

the question is how mate m2 have you got to tile and how many m2 will the BAL gear fix pet bag thus working out how many bags needed
