Tiling on wood

Hi...I built a wooden surround round my bath which I intend tiling,
It's made with new wood, well screwed down to prevent warping, no shower very little splash.
Do I treat the wood in any way? if so what with?

I've got some PVA bond.

Follow the instructions of the adhesive manufacturer - they vary.
Generally speaking, keep PVA away from baths and shower areas.
