Tiling onto plasterboard - tile size advice?

if we are being picky here then thickness is irrelevant too. its the density that matters, however larger tiles are likely to be both thicker and are often porcelain and so are very dense and heavy.

to be accurate you need the manufacturers quoted weight but what richard and tictic are saying is that those tiles are likely to be over - especially on the plastered walls.
