Hi there, hoping someone could give me a little advice. Had a new bathroom suite fitted however the pipes running to the shower valve in the wall are sitting flush to the plasterboard, so basically on top of the breeze lock instead of chiseled in a bit. there is literally 2mm between the pipe and the surface of the plasterboard.
What do I need to do before tiling over these pipes, my main concern is the hot water pipe. I am guessing the heat from this would crack adhesive and grout. therefore oo i need to insulate pipe before tiling. Bearing in mind I have 2mm to play with what should i do!!

p.s I am a novice so be nice!

WTF? Plastic insulating tape?!

Do the job properly and put the pipe in tubolit or conduit.

They don't appear to have the space to do that,a decent powdered flexi adhesive will be fine,I have stripped out bathrooms and found pipework embedded in plaster/render a couple of mm below the surface no covering, been there since the houses were built (30 odd years ago) no signs of leakage on pipes ;)

I see your point.

I know someone who smoked for 70 years and never got lung cancer.

Ergo, smoking is not bad for you.
