tiling over lino (floor tile) adhesive.

Hi carrying on with the work I'm doing I need to tile over the bathroom floor that had lino (or something similar) floor tiles, and they have left a sticky mess on the floor.

Do i need to burn this off or can I prime it with something? Either a specific product or a cement slurry painted on?

without seeing how bad it is ....

sand with rough paper, prime with a rich polybond solution
