tiling over painted tiles

anyone know if its ok to tile over painted tiles in a bathroom?
i was going to get either bigger tiles to put over the smaller ones that are already on or the plastic ones that you can cut, as they are supposed to be easy to do.

I would say no because i know tiling on a painted wall can cause problems.

Ask on the tiling forum you will get a better answer there.

You are relying on the adhesion between the old paint and the original tiles to hold up the weight of the new tiles.
